Severn Trent Services Plant Manager in Gulfport, Mississippi
The Plant Manager oversees the daily activities of onsite staff and contractors at water/wastewater treatment facilities. Must Have Class IV MS WW License
Advises and assists the Project Manager managing the team, including: hiring, on-boarding, performance management, utilization, training, development, salary, promotions, transfers and terminations. Coaches individual and team performance and improvement.
Ensures that all SOPs are followed and DOT, OSHA and other requirements are met. Responsible for all environmental performance and regulatory reporting. Leads all Safety efforts, including training, documentation and compliance. Helps create, improve and implement SOPs.
Manages 24 hour operations and maintenance activities. Operates and repairs various equipment. Works with and advises on-site staff on diagnosing and solving complex maintenance problems.
Communicates with the Project Manager on a regular basis about all aspects of plant operations. Prepares routine and specialized reports as needed. Manages all facility documentation and records.
Works with the Project Manager to prepare and manage the annual operating and capital budget.
Collects samples and conducts field tests. Evaluates sampling and field testing procedures to ensure compliance and suggests adjustments as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of experience in the operation of a water or wastewater treatment facility or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses/Certifications : Valid Driver’s License. Ability to obtain appropriate water or wastewater certification based on facility managed.
Technical : Knowledge of water/wastewater facilities. Working knowledge of OSHA requirements, DOT regulations, Utility SOPs, etc. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications & internet. Ability to interpret analytical results.
