Crossroads Treatment Centers Pharmacist-in-Charge (Pascagoula) in Pascagoula, Mississippi
Crossroads Treatment Center of Pascagoula is currently seeking a Pharmacist (PIC) to join our team in our soon to open facility located in Pascagoula, MS.
Crossroads Treatment Centers provide effective and affordable outpatient treatment for opiate dependence. Our team of experienced doctors, nurses and therapists are passionate about treating opiate addiction. We provide medication (Methadone/Suboxone) along with counseling to help our patients recover. Our emphasis on counseling combined with medication helps drive our impressive success rate.
Hours: This schedule will be approximately 10 hours each week to start and offers some flexibility as to which days. The candidate must be available to work early morning hours. Additional opportunity and hours available at our nearby Carriere, MS location, for up to 20 hours total each week to start.
Order and receive all medications from appropriate source and conduct inventory of controlled substances as required by P&P. Reconcile variances. Report any and all variances as required by state and federal regulations.
Accurately prepare medication doses for patients in levels and dosage amounts as prescribed by Medical Director.
Maintain high level of physical security in pharmacy at all times (door locked, safe closed and locked, alarmed when closed).
Answer patient questions relating to pharmacology issues in a confidential, informative matter.
Ensure compliance with all State Board of Pharmacy policies. Maintain all pharmacy permits and licenses as required by State Pharmacy regulation.
Maintain proper inventory and supplies necessary for pharmacy operations to adequately and professionally meet patient needs.
When on the premises, oversee and review work of pharmacy technician and provide counsel to dosing nurses regarding safe administration of doses.
Ensure that filing system is kept up to date.
Ensure that pharmacy dispensing equipment is kept clean and in good operating condition. Ensure that back-up pump is on site and ready for use. Monitor accuracy of pump and take unit out of service when pump accuracy falls outside of appropriate limits.
Utilize appropriate sink for cleaning of pharmacy dispensing equipment.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of pharmacy and supplies. Ensure that proper medical waste procedures are in use for any medical waste generated by activities of pharmacist or pharmacy technician.
Ensure smooth work flow.
BS in Pharmacy with a valid license from the Mississippi State Pharmacy Board. Two years of pharmacy experience preferred, but not required.
Position requires constant mental alertness, attention to detail, and high degree of accuracy required in completing all assignments. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions and follow –through on all assignments.
